The Peacock Walk Nashville
Our story
Anxiety, depression, stress is a very real thing that can happen to the happiest of people. . In a moment when you think your life is at the best boom .something can change.
Be it financials, heart ache or health. Your life could do a total 360 and your life turned upside down. And in todays world, it destroys you faster due to social media and keyboard warriors.
On April 1st I will be starting my journey to Nashville by foot, with my guitar on my back and my cowboy hat on my head. I will travel everyday and reach my daily post , which Shannon will already have driven to and set us up in some sort of accommodations. First stop Shoreland Ohio. One hour drive is approximately 12 hour walk
While walking , i will write a song about that area and donate proceeds from that song to a person or family of my choice that i have met on that particular route. ,. I will have at least 14 songs in total for 14 days to walk. That's also 14 folks to help ...at the minimum. It might take me a little longer , which just means more songs and more families.
Since 2019, Shannon and I have had a dream. A dream to help bring back magic. The magic and importance of music. The feel, the love , the joy of music
With this dream in December 2019, The Peacock Lounge was born We put everything we had into this dream. All our time and all our money...then 4 months later, covid hit the world and with this emotional rollercoaster and no financial help; due to not being qualified etc. etc. , it tried very hard to crush us. We fought through, day by day , month by month, heartache by heartache. Then came major building problems, then relocation, then a 10 month road construction with more problems with the condition of the building. Then relocating once again .... but this time to downtown Windsor Ontario.. Right where we need to be.. next door to Motown. Soul music capital of the world. Through all this Shannon and I realized how much we were in love and what had to be done, we finally
got married. April 13th 2022 but still haven't been able to have a honeymoon.
The stress , the tiring 17 hour days, the growing pains, rebuilding. the loss of many belongings and the loss of time with family
and friends has taken a major toll mentally, physically and financially
The Peacock is very important to us and we want it to be that place where magic happens. The place where folks meet, the place where we are all family. The place you feel safe. So to prove it, and to show how dedicated we are , I will be doing this walk-a-thon and hope you will follow my venture. Help me keep our dream alive and give random people a little more song in their life, and a hope for a better day. Please donate and follow us on Facebook, Twitter, TikTok and Instagram.
Thank you all so much
Mike and Shannon
