Richard Rowe AHS Class of 2012

I am incredibly sad to share that Richard Rowe has been the victim of a malicious, senseless shooting. At 3:00 am on Tuesday, October 30th in the UPS parking lot where he works, Richard had just arrived for his usual morning shift. While getting out of his car, a lunatic on meth approached with a 12 gage shotgun and 9mm handgun. Unfortunately  the gunman  fired 5 shots and Richard was struck by 2 bullets and several bullet fragments. Although he is no longer in  ICU, his condition is anything but stable.   So far he has undergone 3 surgeries.  One of the bullets hit his spinal cord and has left him without the use of his left leg.  It's possible the paralysis is temporary but it's still to early to tell.  Richard is a true friend, he is kind, genuine, sincere and a person who has shown a lot of strength and courage in the face of a very challenging upbringing. He has had to overcome so many obstacles in his life and yet now he is facing his greatest challenge. It’s hard to see Richard in this pain.Those of you that know Richard know that he gives unselfishly to anyone and everyone that needs a helping hand. He has been a long time member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where he has spent most of his free time serving his  community. He started working for UPS after he returned from his Mission in Ohio.  He loves his job at UPS and hopes to return to work one day.   To be the victim of such a brutal and cowardly act is so devastating. The only thing Richard should be concerned about is healing.  As a side note, and contrary to the initial reports, please be aware that Richard had no prior altercation with the shooter. He was simply an innocent victim of a crazed lunatic. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.
