I’ll introduce myself first then let Anthony take it from there. My name is Melissa, some people know me as GummyGirl both on the Guerrero Grow Show and FCP on YouTube. I bring this detail up because it is because of these channels and communities that I met Anthony, Aka Mr Toad, and his mother Sharon. He has shared countless hours of information and advice and gives 150% of what he has to others.
I am raising money to put a new roof on their house. I asked him to write their story.
Hello my name is Anthony. I am writing this for my Mother Sharon. My mother is 74 years old. She has spent her life dedicated to her sick family. After leaving our family's business she took care of her father for years who fought a long battle with throat cancer and alzheimer. She the took care of her life partner, my other mother, until 2000 when she passed from her own battle with liver cancer and cirrhosis She did all this while herself battling Uterine cancer that she was unaware she had. My mother lived in constant pain until 2013. I had been helping her take care of herself since after my other mother passed in 2000. She finally decided to go see what was the cause of her pain. In 2013 the Drs diagnosed my mother with her first bout of Uterine cancer. She had to have surgery to remove a massive tumor in 2015 which helped save her life. she was clean of cancer until roughly 2021 but the stress of her now taking care of me caused her to have 3 strokes. When doing blood work they found her uterine cancer had returned. She had been taking care of me after i had fell ill from blood infection and osteomyelitis. Between 2017 and 2019 i was in a hospital fighting for my life. They found i had kidney disease and that i needed coccyx surgery as well as have my left leg amputated. All this left me in a wheelchair with very little physical abilities. My mother once again jumped to her loved ones rescue and dove head first into trying to save me. She managed to nurse me back to the state of the living. All the while ignoring her own bout with cancer. On May 14th @021 she had the first of 3 strokes that caused her to fall and reinjure her spine that was broken in an old accident when we were rear ended pulling into our driveway after coming back from a drs appointment. She also broke her femur and hip falling earlier this year and can barley get out of bed these days. If that wasn't all enough today she is having issues with her roof on her house, Last years storms ripped a bunch of shingles off as well as an air and has caused damage to the roofs underlayment vent that allowed rain to come in and collapse the ceiling in two areas upstairs. Neither her or myself can safely make the repairs by ourselves and the disabilities we both live with keep either of us from working to earn the funds needed to save her home. That is why I am writing this for her to ask for help from folks with a heart and who deserve their own stories be told and respected. Living with the feeling that one can not make it with out help is a hard thing no matter who we are, I know this well. My mother would climb a ladder to fix that roof herself if physically and mentally able. Id do the same but alas life wont allow either of us to succeed where we once never failed. So I'm here to ask for help for my mother to help ease her mind and let her have some needed relief. The estimates we were giving range between $8,000-$10,000 to fix the roof and pay for permits to allow the work. I've asked Melissa Nelson to help out after she came to help my family in the past, That is who is going to run the gofundme for my mother.
