Help Amanda Wallace beat Leukemia

Donation protected
On September 12, 2015, my daughter Amanda Wallace was diagnosed with Acute Promylocytic Leukemia.   She spent 32 days at OHSU in Portland for initial treatment.   This treatment will be followed by 2 years of continuous chemotherapy.

Amanda is the most thoughtful,  loving, giving, selfless person I know.  She always puts others first and would give the shirt off her back it she thought it would help someone.  Even as child, she tried to fix and help other kids who had any kind of problem.  I think that is why she chose a career in Juvenile Criminal Justice.

But she has had more than her fair share of medical issues and expenses.   When she was 21 it was discovered that she had a pituitary tumor.  She has had the tumor removed 3 times and it has returned each time.   Having the tumor affects all of her hormones causing the need for several medications to keep her body in a semi-normal state.  The chemo for the Leukemia affects how her medications work, causing the need for multiple physicians to deal with the the Leukemia.

Then in 2008 she injured her back at work which led to loosing her job and going on disability.  Disability coverage ended several months ago and Amanda and her family have been struggling financially.

In addition to the huge medical bills that her illness is going to create on top of her already existing medical bills, Amanda and her husband Corey have been raising their 15 year old neice for the last two and one half years.   Amanda took on her role as a first time parent with more enthusiasm than most people would.  She loves her neice like a daughter! They are trying to provide stability and an excellent education opportunity.

Any contributions to Amanda's current and future medical expenses will be greatly appreciated.   Although she has insurance, the co-pays for the treatment are going to be outrageos, and she has a very high deductable that will have to be met each year before insurance pays anything toward her treatment.  Thank you for taking the time to read Amanda's story.
