Help victims of moral injury and military sexual trauma

Breached was borne in 2023 out of passion by its founding directors, Ceri Marsh and Michelle Harding. Breached speaks out for victims of moral injury, ethical injustice and institutional failure.

Ceri and Michelle have first hand personal experiences of moral injury - Ceri through recent events of standing up to corporate collusion and corruption, and, both as daughters of British nuclear test veterans who witnessed the atomic bomb without any protection during the 1950s Commonwealth testing.

Due to a deep knowledge of the ethical breaches surrounding the nuclear testing, and the impact this had on their fathers and whole family units, Ceri and Michelle understand both a pride in serving one's country yet a deeply personal moral betrayal by the powers that be. They have knowledge that these scientific experiments breached human rights and informed consent, on data already held by the US and UK governments before the testing took place.

On this premise, they formed Breached to speak up for a wider remit such as the victims (veterans) of Porton Down experiments, Gulf War operations, and, latterly, much time is spent supporting survivors of male and female military sexual trauma (MST).

Not surprisingly, these are not glossy subjects and are deeply rooted in an endemic culture that has covered up personal experience and whistleblowing in these areas. Breached promotes the use of artistic expression to articulate feelings for individuals along the pathway of moral injury.

Breached continues to advocate for, support and provide specialist signposting to both the armed forces community and civilians.

To date, Breached's hard work is carried out on a voluntary basis. Any financial help that you can give will be used wisely towards the work of Breached in reaching more people, and will certainly be much appreciated.
