To those whom may not have heard the news yet, our beloved Carlos Melendrez passed away on Monday, March 16th 2020. His heart stopped beating due to a complication of several medical problems. We are devastated. His eldest son Juan Carlos did all he could to try and get him several transplant(s)/surgery he needed but unfortunately the system and time beat us. After battling in hospitals not giving him the proper care for MONTHS because of lack of insurance, his insurance card which his son fought for arrived a day before his death. He was a very kind Father, son, brother, uncle who touched the lives of those around him. He always made funny jokes and made everyone feel loved around him. His legacy, kind heart and funny sayings will live on forever. He leaves behind his three sons, grandson and parents whom lived with him and cared for him the last months of his life. We are all heartbroken by his loss and were not prepared for the high cost of a funeral service. We want to give my tio Carlos the memorial he deserves, to honor his memory and say our last goodbyes in this already difficult time during the corona virus pandemic, we are not able to make events to fundraise money like we would have liked to.
