Stephanie, Shane, and their two beloved dogs lost their home in the fire which destroyed the towns of Paradise and Magalia in Northern California.
We escaped with the clothes we were wearing, our two dogs (Roofis and Callie) and one basket of dirty laundry. Besides our car, we have nothing else.
We lost our jobs as a result of this fire because our places of employment in Paradise were destroyed. Stephanie worked for a local non-profit that benefits at-risk children and families. Shane was a window and door installer.
Our home, which we just bought in March 2018, is now a pile of ashes, but we still have a monthly mortgage to pay.
With no jobs and no home, we are temporarily living in a 27-foot RV until we can rebuild our home and our lives.
The RV park costs $1,500 per month. We will be there for at least 6 months - which is why we are asking for $10,000.
We are a young couple in our early thirties, newly married, and without a financial cushion.
The $10,000 fee for the RV park is an enormous expense for us, especially since we are also paying a mortgage on our home which the fire destroyed.
So, we are seeking your help.
Thank you most sincerely for your consideration,
Stephanie, Shane, and our dogs (Callie & Roofis)
