We are workers at the Seward Co-Op reaching out to our community to support one of our coworkers who was assaulted and robbed at gunpoint on Saturday evening after her shift.
After walking back to the Co-Op, staff on site assessed and situation and began to provide care, and ultimately called EMS. She took an ambulance to the hospital, and a CT scan revealed a broken nose and other injuries.
Brenda's phone was stolen, her glasses were broken, and she doesn't have health insurance to cover the medical expenses for the initial hospital visit or for the needed follow-up appointments. She is expected to be eligible for coverage through work soon, but insurance won't be retroactive.
Let's support Brenda by covering her medical expenses, ambulance, follow-up appointments, a new phone, glasses, and lost time from work.
Wendy Cohen is Brenda's mother, and will be managing the funds until the major bills are paid and Brenda recovers.
