Saving Sharon

I am reaching out today to ask for help for a wonderful couple, Duff and Sharon.  This family needs help to cover medical expenses as well as expenses to care for their special-needs child, Andrea, while her mother recovers fights CANCER.

Please take a moment to read about this couple.

These two exceptional people have always faced challenges from the start. Duff and Sharon met in high school, but they were too shy to let each other know they liked each other.  Fast forward 30 years and Duff ran into Sharon while taking care of his father in the hospital. Both had children and both were divorced, but when they saw each other, sparks flew.  He finally asked her on a date.  In no time, the two were married, and they began their journey together.  

Duff immediately took on the role of a father figure to Sharon’s children and stepped up to the daily challenges of caring for her special needs child Andrea. This man treats her like flesh and blood, and the two share a special bond.

While life was not perfect, things went well for the couple. Then the family was devastated by finding out Sharon had brain cancer.  They fought a hard fight and she came through. Duff made it his mission to make sure Sharon recovered. Never have I seen a man take such great care of a woman.   

Unfortunately, tragedy has struck again. Ten years later, this cancer has reared its ugly head.  Sharon has new tumors in her brain, bones and uterus.  Fortunately, they have found hope at Barnes-Jewish hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.  They are ready for the fight of their lives. But they do need help.  Duff is self-employed, and will have to close his business while he is taking care of her.  They will need funds for medical costs beyond what their insurance will cover.  They also need to pay for adult care for their daughter, Andrea, while her mom gets better.  They also have traveling costs to endure while completing treatment in Missouri.


I wish you could meet Sharon and Duff.  Sharon has been a caring radiology technician for over 25 years!  A devoted mother, she has worked to provide a wonderful home environment for her special needs child, and has always been there for her other children as well.  Of course, she is the apple of her husband, Duff’s eyes.  He is a devoted husband, loving father and active member of the Blackfeet tribe.
