Hi, My name is Charlotte Wilson, Gary Wilson’s niece, I’m here trying to raise funds for Gary in times of need.

Some of you might know Gary Wilson from Maroubra Beach where he grew up in the surfing community. If you know Gary he loves to chase uncrowded waves throughout Indonesia. However, on Sunday afternoon Gary was surfing close to Java where he suffered a sudden medical emergency.

Due to the lack of adequate medical facilities, Gary had to be transported between multiple hospitals before a Medevac helicopter was arranged to fly him from Java to Bali. Unfortunately, after several days of hospitalization, there has been no improvement in his condition, and his diagnosis remains inconclusive. Given the severity of the situation, the only option is an emergency medical evacuation back to Australia, where he can receive the specialist care he desperately needs.

As you all would know medical evacuations and hospital bills are quite expensive, and our family has been faced with bills exceeding $100,000 so far. Unfortunately Gary’s insurance hasn’t covered any of these costs. We are reaching out to our friends, community, and fellow surfers for support. Any donation, big or small, will go directly toward covering medical transport, hospital fees, and ongoing care to give Gary the best chance at recovery.
