Help Armando fight Cancer!

I will never forget, August 11, 2022, I took Armando to Connally Memorial Medical Center when he started having signs of a stroke. In the emergency, they confirmed he was having a stroke. They immediately rushed him to get an MRI. When the results came in, it was scary to hear they found a mass that was the size of a golf ball in his brain. Hearing those words come out of the doctor's mouth turned my whole world upside down. I could not picture a world without Armando, but this was not about me. I knew I had to be strong not only for Armando but also for our girls and grandkids.
While the doctors were deliberating which hospital would be best, I remember looking into his eyes as I tried to explain what was going on. I held back my tears because I knew I had to be strong for both of us. I held his hand and let him know he suffered a stroke but there was more due to the mass they had discovered. The mass ended up being a malignant brain tumor.
After the diagnosis, Armando was transferred to St. Luke's Baptist Hospital where he was admitted to the ICU and was seen by several neurosurgeons of high level of care. They ran several tests and let us know the severity of the diagnosis. After they explained the diagnosis, I felt like a part of me died inside. I had so many emotions running through my mind thinking of how to tell our girls. Then having to explain to someone who was not cognitive of what is going now over and over tore me up inside. The thought of possibly losing your soulmate is something I don’t wish on my worst enemy.
After five days in ICU, they performed a craniotomy surgery to remove the tumor. They successfully removed 90% of the tumor from his brain. The removed tumor was sent off for a biopsy. After an agonizing week of waiting for the results, we received the dreaded news that it was an aggressive form of cancer. The treatments that were recommended were chemo and radiation. Armando has already completed the first round of a combination of chemo and radiation treatment. He is now on the second round of radiation and will soon start his second round of chemo.
Given the circumstances, Armando has not been able to work as head of household since he was hospitalized. As his primary caretaker has not been able to work full time has left us with little to no income during these trying times. We hope you can help Armando and our family as we try to fight this CANCER! Your help will lessen our worries and help comfort us as we deal with these mounting financial burdens. All proceeds will help us with all his medical and related travel expenses and assist us in this time of need. We will continue to post updates on this site.

Please keep Armando and our family in your prayers. Thank you for your support.
