Hi everyone,
We recently rescued our sweet pup Freya about a month ago. After about two weeks, she started having health issues, likely due to her past history in Arkansas and being surrendered twice before we rescued her. She's a little under a year old and she's already been through so much. She hasn't been able to keep any food down or go to the bathroom in the past two weeks, which lead to multiple emergency animal hospital visits, requiring x-rays, bloodwork, ultrasound, endoscopy, biopsies, IV antibiotics and overnight treatment. At this point we still don't have all of the answers for what has been making her sick, but from what we've found out from these visits, it's likely due to severe gastrointestinal health issues.
While we haven't known her for very long, we love her so much and want to give her the best life possible in her forever home. We expected the regular vet visits, but we didn't expect the underlying health issues from her past mistreatment. In the past week and a half alone, we've spent $6,000, and depending on biopsy results we may also be looking at more unexpected emergency payments. We understand that it's the holiday season, but if you can share this post to help reach as many people as possible and help us offset even a portion of the costs Freya and our family would be so grateful.
Thank you,
Allison, Elijah and Freya
