Our friend Mack is now planning his next trip to Lifeline Hospital Malawi. Mack has visited this very deprived area in Malawi for many years working with Lifeline hospital.
There are always challenges to face on the ground there and he is hoping, with your help, to help the people in the immediate area of the hospital and those further away who lack the resources to get to the hospital. (most can't afford the 50p travel expense involved).
These are the projects he hopes to help this year.
- the antenatal clinic is now too small for the increased number of new mothers attending (58 babies a month are being delivered in the maternity ward!). There are plans to extend this ward.
- there are plans to build a communal toilet for the village close to the hospital. The hospital, and this village, are on the shores of Lake Malawi. None of the dwellings in the village have a toilet so they tend to use the lake, which they also use for fishing, washing their clothes….oh…and for their drinking water!!! This resulted in an outbreak of cholera in the area.
- the hospital ambulance broke down some months ago and has been going through major repairs. This ambulance is essential in transporting patients to one of the main hospitals when their conditions are too severe for Lifelines limited resources
He cannot do any of this without your support!
Mack pays for all his own flights, living expenses etc, so 100% of your donations go to help these desperately poor people. Please help these people to be able to access the hospital for their medical needs.
