Help Darcie walk
Darcie-May was born 8 weeks early at 31+6 weeks, we was in the neonatal unit for 2 weeks until we went home but 6 days later Darcie stopped breathing and was having a seizure we later on found out that she had meningitis in her brain and began to have antibiotics in hospital for 12 weeks, the meningitis caused Darcie to have severe brain damage which has also caused her to have epilepsy, hydrocephalus and cerebral palsy, she has very high muscle tone in both legs and in her right arm, Darcie struggles to do day to day things she cannot walk or sit up unaided, as a family we have been looking into ways of how we can help Darcie with her condition and we have came across a operation called selective dorsal rhizotomy (SDR). This operation will take away all the high muscle tone out of her legs and arm and hopefully one day this will help Darcie to walk. This operation is not funded by the NHS it is £10,000 we are asking if all our family and friends would help us by donating whatever they can no donation is too small. Thank you for taking time out to read Darcies story.
