We’re bringing the strength community together for something bigger than lifting weights.
Get It Off Your Chest is a charity bench press competition dedicated to raising awareness for suicide prevention and mental health.
The name says it all: it’s about lifting heavy on the platform, but also about lifting the weight of silence and stigma around mental health.
Our logo features a semicolon ( ; ), the international symbol of suicide awareness. Just as in writing, a semicolon is used when an author could have ended a sentence but chose not to — it represents strength, survival, and the decision to continue.
With support from the Irish Powerlifting Organisation, we’re uniting lifters, gyms, and communities across the country for this cause.
Every entry fee and donation goes directly to SOSAD, helping fund vital support services for those struggling with their mental health.
We believe strength isn’t only measured in kilos lifted, but in the courage to keep going, to ask for help, and to support others when they need it most.
By donating, competing, or simply sharing this campaign, you’re helping to remind people everywhere that sometimes, talking about it is the heaviest weight lifted.
Together, let’s lift for SOSAD.
