Carrignafoy CC in motion for Pieta House
Carrignafoy Community College has always been a huge supporter of Pieta House, and in particular, the annual Darkness into Light Walk. As the 2020 walk cannot take place on Saturday due to Covid-19, the school has decided to run a 24-hour fundraiser to generate vital funds for the brilliant services provided by Pieta House.
Our teachers have each signed up to do one hour of walking, running or cycling from 5am on Friday, May 8th to 5am on Saturday, May 9th, and all members of our school and local community are invited to join us for any one of those hours, from wherever you are! Remember to stay within 5kms of home and to observe social distancing guidelines.
Pieta provides free therapy to those engaging in self-harm, with suicidal ideation, or bereaved by suicide. They rely on the generosity of the public whose donations and fundraising make up over 80% of their income.
