Jim Vlahos is a wonderful, hilarious, proud Greek man, who wants nothing more then to see a smile on people’s faces.
Over the last month he has been in and out of the hospital for low blood sugar and fainting. On Friday May 28th, he was admitted again to run more test and take scans. When the results came in the doctors informed us that he had cancer in most of his body and that they give him a few weeks left to live.
We are very hopeful that we will get as much time a possible with him so we can hear more of his stories of Greece and his jokes (inappropriate included. LOL).
We have hospice set up in his home and we are glad he will be in a place that is familiar and comfortable for him. Were he will be surrounded by his wife, 3 daughters, his grandchildren and as much family and friends as we can fit.
We are looking to raise $10,000 to cover and medical costs that accumulate with having the in-home hospice care. We would like to have someone there most days and possibly nights, as we do not want his loving, caring wife, Sonja, to be fronting the burden of care through this difficult time. We want her to enjoy spending time with him as much as possible and not worry about what she needs to do next. Due to his circumstances what ever funds are left will be going towards his afterlife arrangement costs.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. Anything you can do would be greatly appreciated.
Love always,
The Vlahos Family
