Help with moving to a new home

I need your help!

It isn’t easy to ask for help with $ but, I am in need of funds quick so that I can put a security deposit down on a new apartment this coming Tuesday ( September 5th).

If you’ve been following along with my current apartment situation, you know why. But for those not familiar, let me tell you.

On a rainy day in October 2022, I came home from work to find a leak in my living room ceiling. A table, books, and my couch were all water damage from this. My apartment is on the second floor of a very old house in Ballston Spa with an attic above me. My landlord sent maintenance over to “look” and nothing happened. Winter goes by then spring and spring rains start in 2023. The roof leaks and the hole gets bigger with every rain storm. I’m unable to use a whole section of my living because of the leak, my landlord, who I call, text, and send letters to, doesn’t respond with anything but… “ I hear you, we’re on it” and a “ trying to get it on the calendar”. That’s it. No sorry, no rush to fix a ceiling that is leaking into a tenants apartment.

To this day, the landlord still hasn’t made any attempts to fix anything. I’ve finally found a new apartment but do not have the funds to move or do a last month and security deposit. I need $1500 by Tuesday for a security deposit to give the new apartment when I sign the lease.

This new apartment is a dream! First, no ceilings with holes in them or water leaking… it’s 2 bedroom town house in Malta at the end of a cul de sac in the back near the woods. I get my own back yard ( I’ll have nature out my door again!), my own garage, 2 bdrms and space to teach lessons again! I could even start teaching mandala/art classes. It’s in a rural, quiet neighborhood, only 10 minutes to my work at Opera Saratoga, and allows pets ( Jacks will have more space and nature again!). My mental health will absolutely improve. I didn’t realize how much I missed being out in the woods and having my own backyard like I did in Syracuse. And space to teach again!!! Plus, having a hole in your ceiling and watching it rain in your living room when it rains really does a number on your mental health….

I unfortunately haven’t been able to save up much so I absolutely need help for this all to work out.

I need at least $1500 by Tuesday 9/5 for my security deposit which is due when I sign the lease.

I’m also hoping to have some help with moving costs: specifically hiring movers, a move-out cleaning service and a rug cleaning service so I can get my deposit back from my current apartment.

In total, I’m hoping to get help with $2500.

Anything over that would be absolutely appreciated and will go to any additional moving costs. 

I would so appreciate any help. I need to get myself and Jack out of this current living situation. I was going to wait to have some money saved up but this new place came up and I can’t pass on it. My health, my mental health, jacks health, and my morale can’t take my current living situation any longer.
