fire prefers wood to water

In the early hours of August 27th Alameda Point Studios suffered an arson fire on the north side of the Big Woodworking Shop.
The fire quickly spread  up the wall before being extinguished by our amazing sprinkler system (300 gallons per minute) and the Alameda Fire Department.

beauty comes in many forms
still reflection from carbonized water

It's hard to tell how much water dropped (luckily it was isolated to the fire zone) but I walked from the front to the back of our 50,000 sq.' building up to my ankles in weird black water.

One tenant closest to the wall that was destroyed lost everything.  He also lost the bench comission he was woking on.

There has been a Hurculean effort from everyone here to help demolish, dry-out, move-out, regroup, check machinery be safe. Our community is amazing!

This request is on behalf of the tenants and family of APS. We are thankful that everyone is safe.

We need your help.

The aim of this fund is to raise money for the tenants most in need that have considerable loss.

Equipment and time loss are second and third. There has been so much work already done that will likely go unaccounted for as well as conditions yet unseen.

Please accept this campaign into the stream of social media and into your hearts and experiences. Fire burns and everyone gets touched.

Pass it on! Let's fix the barn!
