Dear Family & Friends,
As some of you may or may not have heard, our friend and brother, Mike Estacio, was in a very serious ATV accident. Regina and his parents said that if we are going to let you all know what happened and what type of condition he is in, to tell everything.
While riding the ATV he fell off the edge of a cliff about 30 feet face down unconsciously and the vehicle fell on top of him. He was on the ground for 3 hours waiting for an ambulance without access to any phones. When he was taken from the ambulance down the mountain and airlifted to a hospital in Santa Rosa (Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital). He was taken to the ER and was soon after admitted into ICU after 2 MRI’s and a CAT scan. Right now he has multiple skull fractures, he broke many bones in his face. The doctor told us how many bones were broken and out of the 35 in your face he broke a lot. He also broke his nose and the bones beneath his eyes. During the fall he sustained a concussion and we are unsure right now if he has liquid on the left side of his brain or an air gap. Also possible nerve damage in his neck, a broken arm, fractured sternum, 6 broken ribs, a punctured lung, T-2 and T-4 fracture in the mid back, compression fracture in his lumbar spine, broken pelvis, a pin in his knee with 15 pounds of traction. He will be having surgery friday (11/18) where he will be having rib plating and will also have surgery on his pelvis to repair it. We are still unsure if he will need any more surgeries, but it is a great possibility. Currently sedated and intubated, receiving oxygen and food through a tube. He will have to wear a custom brace for his back and chest, and is faced with extensive rehab for 9 months.
Undoubtedly, this accident will cause most expenses that will not be covered under insurance. He will also be receiving care from his wife during this time and she will be having to basically do daily things for him.
This is something we all hope we never have to be a part of, but we are asking for your help to make his long road to recovery as easy as possible. We thank you in advance for any and all contributions. His family has asked that instead of cards, balloons, flowers, etc. to please direct your donations toward this campaign. We hope he will have a full and complete recovery.
Please donate what you can and please share with all of your friends and family. Lastly, please keep Mike and his family in your prayers. We appreciate everyones help and support.
Thank you and God Bless.
