BBQ for Hesston

     My name is Dan Childs from Hutchinson, Ks; I belong to a group of KCBS Competition BBQ teams here in Central Kansas. We have been asked to cook some bbq for the employees of Excel, first responders, and community of Hesston, Ks. This request came to me through the employees of Excel; one had volunteered to set up a picnic, get together for all the employees. She is so overwhelmed with all that she is dealing with that she didn't even know where to start. A mutual friend told her that we also had been talking about doing something for them, when they were ready. When we talked, the employees were wanting to do something before returning to work. So, we have volunteered to cook. She said to expect 300-600 people. I am thinking that number could quickly climb to [phone redacted].
      We will use these funds to buy the items that we will need to provide this meal. Including meats, aluminum pans, serving utensils, cutlery, plates, etc.  Any monies not spent to provide this meal, will be given to the employees to use as they see fit. We have told them that they can use it for a memorial, divide it among victims, however they see fit and want it used. 
    They are wanting to eat on 3-6-16, we would need the funds by Thursday 3-3-16.
     It is important for us that we give back to our communities in time of need. I cannot thing of any time being more important to any community; than their being able to gather one last time, to share their experiences. I very much appreciate everyones generosity.
     How thankful will we be? Not near as thankful as those who have been dealing with tragedy, this life changing event, this mind numbing sense of loss and pain. I am sure that they will be eternally greatful for your generosity!!! Please, Please, support this effort to bring them a few hours of family and hopefully normality before they resume working. Be a small part of their healing process!
