﷽,
In the name of Allah the most gracious the most merciful.
إِنَّا لِلّهِ وَإِنَّـا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ
Inna ilillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un
It is with great sadness that we announce on Saturday March 27th, 2021, our beloved brother Ibrahim Omar passed away. May Allah (The Most-High) have mercy on his soul.
Ibrahim was and will continue to be a light to all of his friends and family, he was someone who you couldn’t help but love. No matter the room he was in, he’d unintentionally bring a smile to everyone’s face and enlighten whatever space he was in. He was kind, loving, and always willing to go the extra mile for his friends, family, and even strangers. He was greatly loved and cherished by us all and he will continue to live amongst us and we will honour him in everything we do.
As narrated by Abu Hurairah (RA) that the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: ‘When a person dies, his deeds come to an end except for three: Sadaqah Jariyah (a continuous charity), or knowledge from which benefit is gained, or a righteous child who prays for him.' (Saheeh Muslim)
As such, we are hoping to raise money in his honour, to build wells for those in need in his families hometown (in the Galguduud region of Galmudug state in central Somalia) and give to those in need for the coming month of Ramadan.
Ibrahim's passing has already made a drastic impact on the Somali Community in Edmonton and has resulted in countless people, both young and old, to take steps towards the Deen. With him in mind, and hopes to do well with the time we have all been blessed with, Ibrahim lit a fire in the hearts of his peers, friends, and family such that he may live on through their actions. We ask Allah to accept all of the good Ibrahim has left on this world, forgive him of any shortcomings, and let his goodness shine through the hearts of the ones he's left behind.
Ya Allah please forgive him and elevate his station among those who are guided in Jannah. Send him along the path of those who came before. Oh Lord of the worlds, enlarge for him his grave and shed light upon him in it.
In the name of Allah the most gracious the most merciful.
