This community is absolutely incredible and the VSPCA is very thankful for your steady support and sharing of this need. With volcanic activity since April 09, we are understanding that the the road to recovery and rehabilitation will be a long one. The VSPCA is committed to working with our Ministry of Agriculture and NGO/Community partners to ensure that animal aid and relief are getting into the communities that need it the most. We are hearing from government that there is a need for livestock hay and feed, which we are helping to source from neighboring islands as all vegetation in Saint Vincent has been negatively impacted from ash fall and pyroclastic flows. We are receiving donations for companion animals from neighboring islands and expecting more orders in the coming weeks as items arrive from the States via ship cargo as Saint Vincent’s airport is shut down due to heavy ash. Our team is preparing those items for distribution alongside reputable community-based organizations to meet immediate animal needs.
We are so grateful for your donations!
