Hope for Hadley

Please consider donating to the McCormack family. With mounting medical bills and uncertainty about when they will return to work, we would appreciate any contribution you can make to help alleviate the monetary and emotional burden.

Hadley was born on May 23, 2016. She entered the world 15 weeks early, weighing in at just 1 pound, 3 ounces. Hadley was a patient at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin for 177 days. During that time, Hadley faced many battles, and Erin and Travis faced a rollercoaster of diagnoses, treatments, and predictions about Hadley's survival. If Hadley proved anything during this time, it was that she was a FIGHTER! She beat the odds against poor blood flow, blood clots, potential loss of a limb, underdeveloped lungs and infections. Hadley was, quite literally, a miracle baby.

On November 16, 2016, after 177 days, Hadley left Children's Hospital of Wisconsin to go home, and she spent the next almost 6 years developing into the most amazing little girl. Hadley is a spunky, sassy, and intelligent kid. Her french bulldog, Milo, is her best friend. She is a lover of all kinds of music. Her favorite color is green. She enjoys going out for boat rides. Because of her desire to be independent, before going into school each day, Hadley is reminded that she needs to follow the group's plan rather than Hadley's plan (and that just makes me smile).

While Hadley has fought a few health battles over the past almost 6 years, never in a million years did Erin and Travis think they would be back at Children's Hospital. On the morning of January 8, 2023, Hadley was found unresponsive. She was rushed to the hospital, where doctors found a very large brain tumor, the size of a hardball. The following day Hadley had surgery that lasted over 10 hours, and during which doctors were able to remove 85% of the tumor. It was determined that the tumor was malignant, and that it was fast growing. Erin and Travis are continuing to work with doctors on how to treat the remaining 15% of that tumor. As you can imagine, the road has been and will continue to be a bumpy one. Hadley will likely be fighting through radiation and other treatments. And FIGHT is what that little girl will certainly do.

If you asked Erin and Travis what they need most from their family, friends and community, they would emphatically say...PRAYERS. They are a family that leans heavily into their faith and their belief in God. We ask for your prayers, too, in addition to donating what you can to help out this amazing family who is facing this unspeakable battle.
