Help Jaden Edgren on this difficult journey

Hi, my name is Jeanette, an aunt of Joel and Jaden! I wanted to let you know about the new health journey they are walking through.

Jaden began experiencing headaches back in January. It took her doctors until this week to diagnose her with Pseudotumor cerebri, also known as idiopathic intracranial hypertension. It is a problem caused by elevated cerebrospinal fluid pressure in the brain. Her headaches have become severe and her vision is blurred. The past weeks have been difficult and she has not been able to work her normal hours. Thankfully she has been diagnosed but unfortunately, there is no cure.

This week she had a spinal tap done. When they measured the pressure it was 49 and the doctors said anything above 20 is high. They drained the excess fluid and put her on a diuretic to try to keep the fluid down after they drained it. The medicine can have really bad side effects.

One of the biggest concerns with this disease is that it can cause blindness. We want her to look for a specialist who works with this disease daily, so she can receive the best care possible. They are looking at Mayo Clinic which has a team of doctors who work daily with this disease.

Jaden does have health insurance but has a high deductible to meet before care is covered. Since they are still newlyweds (they'll celebrate their 2nd anniversary in about a month) they haven't had time to establish much of an emergency fund and are not sure how they can afford to pay for the care that Jaden is requiring.

First and foremost, we would appreciate your prayers for Joel and Jaden - that God would give them grace and strength for this stressful time, for wisdom for them and the doctors, and that God would heal Jaden. Second, we wanted to set up this account to give people a chance to help support them financially to get the treatment Jaden needs. If you can give at this time, it would be a huge help and encouragement for them and their families.
