Hello friends! We are writing this to raise awareness and financial help for our mom, Lisa Griffin. She is currently in the middle of a severe health crisis and as the doctor's visits have piled up, so has the financial burden.
About three months ago, our mom, perpetually on her feet at work, began experiencing debilitating back pain. Chiropractic treatments did nothing to allay the pain, so an MRI was scheduled and she was found to have spinal stenosis in the lower back. Surgery and three days in the hospital soon followed, with an expected recovery time of 2-4 weeks. That was going to be hard enough on a person who is always looking to serve and give and actively help others! But the expectation of steady progress toward recovery never materialized. Instead, the pain grew so intense at one point that an ambulance had to return mom to the hospital for another three days to help manage the pain. A post-op appointment on Monday of this week confirmed what she had feared for several days: another surgery would be necessary to resolve her back issues. This surgery will require another three days at the hospital and 4-6 weeks recovery.
The fears and worries associated with multiple surgeries have been compounded by financial setbacks. At this point she is only part of the way through her treatment and has another surgery and a long rehabilitation ahead of her. As you can imagine, with multiple hospital stays, ambulance trips, months of missed work (so far), and other various medical bills, the financial burden has been extreme. No matter how well prepared even the best of us are, an event like this has the ability to change the course of one's entire financial future. Yet this also means an opportunity for us to gather around Lisa not only in our support and prayers and words of encouragement, but likewise in helping to meet the significant financial needs resulting from her medical care and months out of work. Please help us support our mom Lisa through this difficult time!
