Ethan's Army

Ethan Highsmith is a 13-year-old boy who is a loving son, amazing brother, nephew, cousin and friend. He is loved by all of his family and anyone he encounters. He has a relaxed, calming demeanor with an infectious smile. He loves his friends and school and has been looking forward to his 8th-grade year this coming fall.

On Sunday, March 13th Ethan was taken to the hospital because his left leg was swollen, and it hurt when he tried to walk on it. The news of being told that he needed to go to John Hopkins All Children's Hospital for further testing was frightening for all involved.

On Monday, March 28th, Ethan was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called Ewing's Sarcoma.

Ethan has a malignant tumor in his left leg and nodules that have metastasized in both lungs.

Ethan, Liz, Aaron and Makayla's world has been turned upside-down.

Ethan is fighting the battle of all battles. Our God is a mighty God and I know will get him through this.

We call upon our prayer warriors to pray for Ethan and his family.

Ethan has a long road ahead of him with a treatment plan that includes intense chemo, surgery and radiation.

Starting Tuesday, April 5th Ethan will start undergoing in-patient chemotherapy and the rest of his long journey.
