Support Dana's Journey to Recovery

As a Suffolk County, NY police officer, I responded to the report of a (2) yr old baby found floating in a pool in July, 2018. Upon arriving, we were able to resuscitate young Dana who was transported to the hospital with a hypoxic brain injury. Doctors were at first unsure if Dana would survive, but she defied the odds and left the hospital 61 days later. Doctors initially thought Dana would not survive the night, then the week, then they stopped predicting mortality! Doctors then told Dana’s parents that she would more than likely be bed ridden the rest of her life, with not much chance of improvement. Dana has defied ALL of the odds and is now able to move her arms and legs small amounts purposefully and is cognitively able to participate with answering questions using a communication switch device. Progressive treatments and doctors have made incredible improvements in Dana’s condition, but they are quite expensive and are not covered by insurance. Your generous donation can greatly affect Dana’s life and the lives of her entire family.

On a side note, it was through this beautiful girl that I realized that I had suffered from PTSD after my 30 yr police career ended. After healing my own PTSD, my life’s purpose was shown to me - working with other military veterans/1st responders to cure their PTSD and trauma issues. My healing journey & subsequent mission to help others NEVER would’ve begun if not for Dana, SHE is actually changing people’s lives through me and I would like to change and enhance both her, and her family’s lives with your help.
