Hello I am John Emerson's niece, Becky. I have created this account in order to ask for assistance. In less than a year, my grandmother (John's mother), has had to say farewell to 3 children. Of those 3, 2 have had no life insurance, 1 of which is my Uncle John. With a heavy heart and a swallowing of pride, I say that we just can't afford a proper funeral and final expenses. So I am reaching out to all those of you who've known him, been influenced and or helped by him. Please help us give him a proper farewell.
The funeral, with full military honors as is his right having been a veteran, will cost about $8,000. We are also trying to keep his house in the family. Unfortunately untill his estate is settled, we can do nothing with it except make payments and wait for what the bank will decide. None of us can afford to pay for double mortgage and utilities, so I am also adding that to what we're trying to raise. With mortgage, utilities and insurance thats almost another $2,000 a month and we could be looking at several months before paperwork is finalized and the bank has made a decision. Though being upfront, we still might not get the house as that will be in the banks hands.
