Hi, my name is Caitlin, and I’m fundraising for surgery for the cutest guinea pig in the whole world named Susan. I love her to bits, she is about to turn 3 (beginning of November) and I had to take her to the vet today because I noticed some bald patches on her abdomen and that her nipples were crusty. The vet informed me that she had ovarian cysts, and would need surgery to remove her ovaries. After the surgery, she should be able to return to a normal healthy life and live many more years. Without the surgery, she would only probably have a few months left. I am absolutely 100% set on doing the surgery. However, the vet quoted me between $2,100 and $2,300 for the surgery. I just graduated from university in April and haven’t found a job yet, and my student loan repayments begin next month. I pay rent, and have been scraping by with food delivery, but I in no way shape or form can afford this surgery. I am absolutely heartbroken and I don’t know what else to do to be able to afford this surgery for my Susan. She just lost her sister in May (I spent over $1000 on her, which is why I have no funds left in my emergency pet fund. She was misdiagnosed 3 times before she sadly passed away), and she had to go through that heartbreak, and she just became bonded with her new cage mate Sweet Potato. I feel so bad that now she has to go through this too and I want to be able to get her surgery as soon as possible. If I saved up money on my own it would be months until I would be able to afford it. I am not asking for or expecting a lot (or really anything). Just literally anything will be great help. I hate asking for charity but I just don’t know what else to do.
