Little Inara's Big Battle

On January 19, 2016, just one week after their daughter Inara turned 3, Jenny and Rafe heard the devastating words no parent should ever have to hear: "Inara has Leukemia." With those few words their lives have been changed forever.
Jenny is a dedicated and amazing mother to her beautiful daughters Elu and Inara. Many of you will know her from the North Shore Moms groups, or play groups such as the iHope drop in at Maplewood Farm. She is one of those special souls who you can always count on to be there for you, to cheer you up when you need love and support, and to offer a helping hand no matter what.
Sweet Inara is currently at BC Children’s Hospital, where she is undergoing an intensive period of chemotherapy. Over the last week she has endured countless blood tests, a lumber puncture and many blood transfusions. Throughout this time she has not shed one tear, and has won over the nurses and doctors with her quirky personality and joke telling! Once Inara finishes this bought of chemo, she will be sent home and treated as an outpatient. Jenny and Inara will need to make weekly visits to Children’s Hospital to receive additional chemotherapy for a period of 3 years.
Family, friends and good people of the Universe, lets rally together and raise some money for this beautiful family in their hour of need. Together we can help Jenny and Rafe with the cost of a regular cleaning service as Inara’s immune system will be severely compromised due to all the chemo. The house will need to be thoroughly sterilized a couple of times a week to ensure she does not catch any infections whilst undergoing treatment. In addition to this, your donations will also be put towards filling the freezer with some delicious meals to ensure Jenny can focus all her time and energy on her family.
