I'd like to start off by thanking you for taking your time to view my page, awareness of an eating disorder is the first step in conquering it!
Some of you may know me, some of you may not. My name is James and since the age of 10 I've been dealing with disordered eating, the past 5 years it's evolved into a major battle with this mental illness. My days have become consumed with restricting and night filled with binging and purging.
I'm currently on my second round of treatment. The last time (2013) I spent 6 months in treatment, stoping all progress I had made in school. I commute to Portland Oregon from Salem 7 days a week and spend my days in group. I've had to make some hard life choices to focus on my recovery, stepping away from work and dance, the things that have ultimately kept me going this long.
Now, the reason I've invited you here! I'm asking support from my community to help me focus on treatment. I'm struggling to make my monthly bills because of the lack of work and have a 1400 dollar contract I need to pay off so I can focus on just being in treatment. My 76 year old grandmother has offered her help in covering my expenses while in treatment, but she has her own debts and bills to worry about so if like to ease the burden on her as much as possible. Thus, I'm asking for your help instead.
I'm aware this is a lot to ask, but the smallest but if support helps so much. I've been supported by my family (you, my peers and those I surround myself with) so many times in the past and hesitate to ask for your support once again, but here I am. Just... Thank you.
I wanted to share my crafts with you all (chainmaille!), so for those of you who donate 40 dollars or more I'll make you a bizintine style bracelet and those who donate 70 dollars or more I'll make oh a dragon scale bracelet. If you do donate and want a bracelet leave a comment with your wrist length and colors you'd like to see.
I so want to kick this mental disorder in the butt and get back to school, dance, and helping others.
