My dad was unexpectedly diagnosed with esophageal cancer earlier this year and treatment - as I'm sure most know - is a huge financial burden on a family. He is unable to work and while my parents are still paying for healthcare, the total out-of-pocket cost will be around $52,000; we are asking for help (when we normally would not) because this is an astronomical cost for our family and the life of my dad is our priority.
