Long Lane JFC

We are raising money for LONG LANE JUNIOR FOOTBALL CLUB.

The club was formed in 1981 with just a handful of teams and without its own ground we used various school and park pitches to train and play on. Over the years the odd permit for Kidbrooke Playing Fields was bought here and there at the Dursley Road ground and at the time only 2-3 games were being played each Sunday at the 5 pitch facility.

In the early 90’s the pavilion and dressing room facilities were derelict and vandalised and the local authority did not have the funds to maintain it. The club put a proposal to the council to look after the ground, raise money for its refurbishment and development and in the process find the club a home. With the help, goodwill and numerous fundraising activities of the clubs members over the years it is now a ground to be very proud of.

38 years on from the club forming and some major repair work needs doing at the ground and the old pavilion. The boilers need replacing, new roofing is needed for a section of the facility and, importantly, major repair work is needed on the pitches due to sinking under soil pipes.

This club is a massive part of the local community boasting over 500 members, 43 teams from U7's through to vets, including 6 girls teams and a ladies team. We also offer our facilities, free of charge, to local schools and the South London Special League which is one of the biggest disability leagues in the country helping people from 11 years to adult to participate in football.

The club are asking for any donations, large or small, to help towards keeping this club moving forward and providing a safe, supportive environment and great place to play football to the 500+ grassroots players and the local community.
