Have a Heart Friends of Kevin Bray

Donation protected
Kevin is a wonderful young man with Down's Syndrome who we support .
Three weeks ago he became seriously ill when a viral infection attacked his heart leading to heart failure, his  only chance of survial we were told would be a heart transplant. At the moment Kevin is too poorly to be considered for transplant however the amazing team at The Freeman Hospital will perform a potentially lifesaving procedure this week by fitting him with a VAD (Ventricular Assist Device)  which takes over some or all of the function of the heart until such time as a heart becomes available or he recovers . Kevin will be the first person with Down's Syndrome to have this procedure at The Freeman.
Apart from the excellent care he recieves the Freeman also provide facilities which have allowed his mum to remain with him, the family accommodation is funded entirely by charitable donations. As a way of saying thankyou we want to raise money to keep the good work going it costs the charity £28 per night to allow a parent to remain with their sick child so £1000 will pay for 35 nights accommodation a VAD device costs £66,000 it would be amazing if we could raise enough to buy one of these !!
