Help Support the Vargas Family

Donation protected
Hi everyone, I have set up this GoFundMe to support my coworker, Jennifer Vargas (and her family). Jennifer’s mother recently passed away and we are wanting to raise funds to help cover her mom’s funeral services, cemetery and headstone expenses. Any help would be so greatly appreciated. Her obituary is included below:

“Diana Guadalupe Sanchez, 45, passed away on February 14, 2025, in Elmhurst, Illinois. Born on April 1, 1979, in Juarez, Mexico, Diana lived a life filled with love, faith, and dedication to her family and community.

Diana pursued her education in Aurora, Illinois, attending Simmons Middle School and later graduating from West Aurora High School. She furthered her studies to become a Licensed Practical Nurse and dedicated her career to healthcare as an Endoscopy Technician at Elmhurst Hospital. Her commitment to helping others extended beyond her profession; she was known for her selflessness and willingness to assist anyone in need.

Faith played a central role in Diana’s life. She was a devoted member of St. Rita of Cascia Catholic Church in Aurora, Illinois, where she actively volunteered her time. Her love for God was evident in the way she lived, always offering kindness, support, and encouragement to those around her.

Diana cherished spending time with her family and found joy in their company. She is survived by her beloved daughters Jennifer Cazares (Jose Cazares), Jessica Vargas (Juan Uribe), Priscila Vargas, and Diana P. Vargas; her grandson Sebastián Uribe; her mother Guadalupe Melendez; and her sister Wendy Santillán. She also leaves behind her nieces Angelica Rodriguez and Nataly Rodriguez and nephew Jesus Rodriguez.

She was preceded in death by her cousins Cecilia G. Meléndez and Francisco J. Meléndez; uncles Jose Meléndez, Heriberto Meléndez, Juan Meléndez, and Isidro Nevárez; aunt Guillermina Meléndez; and grandmother Luciana Vega.

Diana had a passion for learning and enjoyed educating others about finances. In her younger years, she loved playing basketball and admired Michael Jordan’s talent on the court. Music was another source of joy for Diana—she attended concerts across various genres, embracing the vibrancy of life through song and dance. Her laughter was contagious, bringing warmth to every gathering she attended.

A visitation will be held on Friday, February 21, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at St. Rita of Cascia Catholic Church, located at 750 W. Old Indian Trail in Aurora, Illinois. A Funeral Mass will follow at the same location from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. The graveside service will take place at Spring Lake Cemetery at 745 Lincoln Ave., Aurora, Illinois, from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM.

Diana’s memory will live on through the love she shared with those around her. Her warm embraces, encouraging words, and unwavering faith will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.”
