Afghanistan crisis:
Afghanistan is going through a humanitarian crisis. Based on UN statistics, 95% of Afghans are not getting enough food to eat (UNAMA, 2022). After the takeover of terrorists (Taliban) over the country, all the public services collapsed, and the foreign aid froze. The situation is so severe that households are forced to take desperate measures, from selling their body organs to deciding which child to sell and which one to keep just to survive.
About us:
We (Sara, Mashal, Khadija, and Lala) are four Afghan students studying at Northeastern University. It is an immense sorrow in our lives to see our people go through such a crisis. We believe everyone in our community should consider this humanitarian crisis. Hence, we have decided to raise some funds to support humanity. We will send the funds to the organization “Tesamuh Knowledge and Cultural Organization,” which is based in Afghanistan, Kabul. They will use the fund to distribute food packages to the vulnerable Afghans in need.
One package per family is $29 (2,650 AFS) and includes the following items:
- 5-liter cooking oil ($9.90)
- 10 kg rice ($10.20)
- 3 kg sugar ($2.23)
- 2 kg bean ($2.76)
- 3 packets of macaroni pasta ($1.26)
- 1 tomato paste can($1.00)
- 500 g green tea ($1.80)
Your donations can save lives from starvation.
Thank you,
