Jesus is so cool, guys! Over the past 3 years at UGA, He's done some incredible things in my life. I've grown closer to Him, learned a lot, made a lot of mistakes, and ultimately keep coming back to one simple truth: Jesus loves me, Yes I know.
I cannot stop thinking of how special it is that we are called as Christ's children to share the Good News of the Gospel! An instrumental part of me learning to share during college has been the organization called Cru at UGA (formerly known as Campus Crusade for Christ). During my years at UGA, Cru has provided amazing leadership and opportunities for students like me to learn about Jesus, what a relationship with Him looks like, and how to share the Gospel effectively!
Along with help to grow spiritually, Cru has also given me numerous opportunities to get involved and build an incredible community. Cru has led me to join small groups to attend and co-lead, given me a discipleship leader and training, a position on Servant Cru to help spread weekly information via Cru's social media outlets, an opportunity to play violin for their Worship Band, and two unique trips to go out on mission to Haiti and New York City! I could go on and on about what this ministry means to me--Cru is my home away from home!!
Recently I have been trying to grasp how ministry will be a part of my future career (GASP, I'm graduating in a little over a year!!). I have been presented and accepted with a special opportunity through Cru to learn how my job in the medical field can encompass ministry! Rather than keep my career and spiritual life separate, this trip will help show me how I can make the two intertwined in a professional and caring manner. The trip is one week long, from July 4-July11 and will be in Redlands, California. We will be working with doctors, PAs, nurses, and several providers; we will aquire actual clinic training with these men and women and hear how they use ministry in the real world with real patients.
I am so very excited for this trip, but I need your help! In order for this trip to really happen, I will need to raise $1500 to cover all expenses including airfare, lodging, meals, and materials. I am so confident that this trip will be benefical to both my career and my walk with the Lord, and I invite you to be a part of this journey with me!
