This is a picture of Buddy and I in our first British Eventing Under 18’s Novice (BE ONu18) class. We never knew he would be so good and I was never meant to have a pony. We got Buddy completely by chance however we now have to sell him as we can no longer afford to keep, train and compete him at the level that he has reached and deserves to continue at. He is 10-year-old gelding and his grandsire was Dexter IV, the only stallion to ever be an International showjumper and advanced 3* event horse. Just like Dexter IV, Buddy loves eventing more than life itself! He is the most fantastically talented pony and in the past 3 years, we have progressed from jumping around 75cm courses to competing at the Pony Club and Schools National Championships, BE 1m classes and now the BE ONu18 classes; achieving things I could only ever dream about.


Buddy is the perfect event pony. He is fast, athletic and graceful and now we have reached the bottom rung of the ladder to the top. To stop now would be heart-breaking and such a waste of our potential and unique partnership.In the 3 years that I have owned him, Buddy has matured, through a few teenage tantrums, into my enthusiastic, cheeky teammate. He simply loves his work and always tries his hardest. Buddy is the only pony I’ve ever owned and he means the world to me. He is always there for me and I can’t bear to lose him because he is my best friend as well as my companion.

Taking Buddy eventing is the best feeling ever, second to none. It feels as though we are flying! Last week we competed at our first ever British Eventing ONu18. It was by far the biggest cross country course that we have ever jumped and he took it all in his stride, jumping a lovely clear round.


Buddy and I would be eternally grateful for the opportunity to compete together for just one more year in the Under 18 sections.  He has so much talent and I would love to see just how far we can go together. We’re teammates, and without Buddy, I’ll be losing more than just a pony; I’ll be losing the best thing that has ever happened to me.  If I can raise £20,000 I would be able to keep, train and compete Buddy for the next year. Please help give Buddy the chance he deserves, give us the chance to achieve our goals and keep an amazing team together!
