Mr Ozzie - who happens to be my best friend in this world- is not doing well at all. And unfortunately, the only solution to his problem is a surgery (a TPLO surgery, to be more specific). And unfortunately, this surgery costs nearly $4,000.
And since I've decided to make it happen one way or another, I thought that if each one of you (by that I mean some of you!) were able to contribute as much or as little as you can (even $10 would be great!) towards this procedure, it would really help tremendously! -
So, what he has is a torn ACL Ligament (bigger dogs are more prone to it) on his back left knee. Surgery is the ONLY way for him to get his leg back. Neither the vet  nor I can be sure how exactly this happened, but until he gets this surgery and his leg heals, he is in great pain and unable to use his left back leg in any way;
so no swimming for Oz, no running, and of course no playing/wrestling with other dogs - which he really loved to do!! And he's just a 7-year old boy...

The surgery will take place at the Adobe Animal Hospital in Petaluma CA, and Dr. DeCleva will be the one managing the surgery and Ozzie's recovery.
The people working in this hospital are all wonderful! Here is what the doctor emailed me today regarding the surgery:

"Hi Dafni,
Here is the treatment plan for Ozzie to get the TPLO surgery he needs.

This plan includes pre-anesthetic bloodwork,  fluid therapy throughout the day, the cost of the specialty surgeon who will be performing the surgery , pain medications in hospital and multiple medications to go home, an epidural, eight week post surgery progress exam with radiographs, and numerous rechecks with an RVT.

As soon as you would like to set up the surgery I will contact the surgeon to find a day that will work for the both of you.  I would love to go over this treatment plan in more detail with you in person or over the phone.

If you have any questions at all please call us at (707) [phone redacted]."

They also provided me with the breakdown of the costs of surgery and recovery, and of course I can email a pdf file with the details to whoever is interested!

Please please please help my big black monster get back on his foot and be happy again! <3
Thank you!!

P.S. You can even be present during the surgery if you're able to, holding his hand and giving him hugs and kisses - he will be fast asleep, but I'm pretty sure he'll remember :)
