We are a non-profit FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics Team 8410 at Oyster River High School (ORHS) serving in Durham, Madbury, and Lee, NH. With a spirit of collaboration and teamwork, we use robotics to learn the fundamentals of design, engineering, programming, and business management.

We have an enthusiastic and growing team of over 30+ students that are using robotics to develop their skills as the next generation of technology and innovation leaders. Many of the students on our team have a serious interest in future careers in computer science, electrical/mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering/medicine, and the business of technology.

• Team members are not required to have any previous experience before joining

• All high school grades can participate equally

• Over 35% of our team members are female

• We are part of a tuition-free public high school

With your support, we can help our team engage, educate, and advance students in STEM. Our team is self-funded, meaning that we get limited resources from the school. As a result, sponsors, friends and families are instrumental to our student-led team.

Through this program, students:

• Learn from professional engineers

• Master STEM skills

• Learn and use sophisticated software, hardware, and power tools

• Build and compete with a robot of their own design

• Improve teamwork, interpersonal, and communication skills

• Qualify for college scholarships

Your sponsorship will cover not only the costs of components that we directly use in the construction of a strong, competition-level robot, but also upgrading our workshop, supporting new members and participating in competitions.
