Oxygen for Kristi

Dear family and friends, 

For those of you that don’t know, Kristi was diagnosed with pulmonary sarcoidosis in 2016. Her lungs are permanently scarred causing her to only have the use of about 50% of her lungs capacity. In order for her to function day to day she has to have the support of oxygen. Insurance has provided her with some support but that support is inadequate. What Kristi needs is a portable oxygen concentrator. Insurance considers this a “luxury” item and will not contribute to its cost. However, when you are close to someone with this disease, in this condition, with this set of circumstances, it is easy to see that this is definitely a necessity. Without this machine, day to day tasks that many of us do with ease (e.g., getting out of our car and walking into a store) are extremely physically and emotionally challenging for Kristi. 

Kristi is a single mom of 2 daughters (18 and 7). She has very good heart and is one of those people that would give her last so someone else wouldn’t have to struggle. She has said to me “there are people worse off than me” in regards to reaching out for financial support. I had to remind her that yes that is true but she is important too and so is her quality of life. 

Portable concentrators are quite expensive starting at about $2,000. She had one before but it was stolen from her car in November of last year. 

Please help us help Kristi purchase a new portable oxygen concentrator.
