As some may be aware our close friend Amanda Braddock lost her husband Nathan Braddock (ox) on 23rd February 2024 after a short unexpected diagnosis of cancer leaving Amanda and their three children devastated. Amanda and ox had been inseparable since the age of 16 having grown together and having a family they supported each other through the tough times they shared when their two daughters were born very premature and not knowing if they were going to pull through. After 14 years of being together ox finally popped the question and asked Amanda to marry him without hesitation Amanda said yes. They got engaged February 2023. They were both so happy and couldn’t wait to plan the big day. After weeks of planning they finally decided on their dream wedding in Cyprus for August 2024 sadly in November 2023 after numerous hospital and doctors visits and being sent away with wrong diagnosis ox was discovered to have pancreatic cancer which came as a huge blow to them both with their big day all planned and booked ox was determined to try his best to be there always having hope that one day they would be husband and wife. Sadly ox didn’t make it and passed after a marriage blessing in hospital. Amanda had to break the news to their three young children age 10,7,5 who absolutely adored him and miss him terribly as he was a very hard working hands on devoted dad. Amanda gave up her job to care for ox day and night as well as looking after their three young children. Even though she has had to organise the funeral and everything by herself she has remained so strong for her children with everything they are going through. Ox’s wish was that whatever happened to him to make sure that Amanda and their children still went to Cyprus and had the best time and made lots of memories as the children were so excited to be experiencing their first trip abroad. Unfortunately after broken promises and being let down Amanda was left with the entire cost of the funeral and put everything that she had into the funeral leaving her struggling financially with three young children. So after all of ox’s hard work and still even trying to work after his diagnosis to make sure the wedding went ahead Amanda is set to have to break the news to her children that they are no longer going to be able to Cyprus has she cannot financially pay the remaining 3,500 left to pay. So has Amanda’s close friends and family we have decided to try and reach out to people to raise as much of the money as we can in the next 10 days to pay the remaining balance to make ox’s wish come true and give Amanda and her children something to look forward to after a heartbreaking time
