In the early hours of Monday 3rd September our beloved Owess Munir returned to his Lord.
Owess was a much loved, valued and active member of the Cardiff community and beyond. He was a true humanitarian who devoted his life to serving those in need.
His tireless efforts inspired both young and old alike.
The news has left us all devastated. Owess spent his whole life trying to ease the problems of others. We think it would be a fitting tribute to do something that will not only carry on this noble work but also benefit Owess.
In light of this the family has set up a fundraising page in memory of Owess so that his legacy can continue. The money raised will go towards a water project that will act as a Sadaqah Jariya (ceaseless charity) so that he can continuously receive rewards.
The chosen project is building of a borehole well in Nugaal, Somalia. We aim to support 500 drought affected families (roughly 3,000 people) and their livestock who are severely suffering from water scarcity due to successive and recurrent droughts. Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:
The Messenger of Allah (Peace and blessings be upon him) said, "When a man dies, his deeds come to an end except for three things: Sadaqah Jariyah (ceaseless charity); a knowledge which is beneficial, or a virtuous descendant who prays for him (for the deceased)."
