Owen has been approved for a stem cell treatment at Duke University! It’s a clinical trial where he will get Charlotte’s banked cord blood. We are very excited he has this opportunity! The only downside is it’s $15,000 upfront even to get it scheduled! We have most of this saved, but would love to fundraise for more! If you would like to donate we appreciate it so much!
Here is a little about the trial from Duke: The purpose of this Expanded Access Protocol (EAP), which is conducted under an Investigational New Drug Application (IND) from the US FDA, is to enable access to autologous (a child’s own) or sibling umbilical cord blood infusion(s) for children with certain neurologic conditions who are not eligible to participate in one of Duke’s ongoing clinical trials. Children with cerebral palsy, hypoxic brain injuries, stroke, congenital hydrocephalus, speech apraxia, and other related brain injuries may be enrolled.
