Owen’s Second Chance Adoption!!

As many of you know, I have been Owen's legal guardian since February! Mine and Owen's story, though, starts many years ago! Owen was in the same orphanage as Noah in Armenia! When I went on my visits to see Noah, I also got to know Owen. He was an inquisitive, smart, and old-souled 3-year-old! I fell in love with him then. I learned a family was coming for him, so I helped as much as I could to fundraise some money to help bring him home! Around 3 years ago, I began to do summer respite for Owen's first family. The once 3-year-old was now 10!!! He loved coming for the summers, and we started a scrapbook series called “My Summer at Ms. Denene’s,” “My Summer at Ms. Denene’s: The Sequel.” Last year, Owen went through an extensive surgery and spent 3 months in the hospital. I flew up as often as I could to be there with him. We really developed a strong bond with one another, and it looked like instead of just “My Summer at Ms. Denene’s,” it was going to be “My New Life with Ms. Denene.”

Directly after Owen's release from the hospital, he came home to stay!! I have been his legal guardian since, and he desperately wants to be officially adopted! He already goes by the name Goodyear at school and is genuinely happy in his life here. We are ready to move forward, but with any adoption or readoption, there is always a cost. Adoption often involves fundraising to help lighten the financial load! If you would like to help Owen and me, any amount would help!!!
