Owen's Battle with Kidney Cancer
Donation protected
Please consider helping this sweet family. On Friday, August 11th, we learned that our precious 1-year-old Owen has tumors in both kidneys. He will receive weekly chemo treatments before an eventual surgery to remove the tumors.
As you know, insurance only covers so much. Eithan and Kylie live 50 miles from the hospital. The hospital bills, travel expenses, plus time off from work, will make it difficult for them to make ends meet.
Please consider donating to this little family so that they will not stress about finances and can focus on Owen's health and recovery. Thank you for all of your thoughts, prayers, and donations. They are greatly appreciated.
Owen's story from Kylie:
So for a while now Owen’s stomach has been distended and he hasn’t started crawling or reaching physical milestones when it’s most expected for babies. On Monday, August 7th, Owen was sitting up on the floor as he normally did and his leg turned blue/purple but it went away after I laid him down. I kept an eye on it throughout the week and it never got that bad again till Friday. We were sent to Children’s Hospital and found out Owen has tumors in both of his kidneys. It’s called Wilms tumor, it’s the most common cancer in babies with a more than 80% survival rate but it’s rare to have tumors in both kidneys. It’s at Stage 3 and the tumors have caused his diaphragm to be pushed up which has made his stomach to be smaller and not enough room for his lungs to expand properly. They also told us this is the reason he hasn’t started crawling or walking yet. The past couple days Owen hasn’t kept any food down because of the chemo, his stomach being so small, and his blood pressure has been high. We just ask that y’all keep our little baby in your thoughts and prayers. We have a long recovery journey ahead of us.
