The Owenby family stared at death, uncertainty, and the potential of seeing their family shattered when Tiffany was hospitalized with COVID pneumonia at 26 weeks pregnant. Yet, their faith was unshaken. While Tiffany and baby James are now on the path toward complete healing, they face many obstacles in terms of medical costs, therapy, and other related expenses. Their medical bills alone are daunting. BUT this is a story of overcoming incredible odds. And, joyfully, instead of raising funds in memorial, we join in this miraculous story to celebrate and support Tiffany, her husband, Kyle, and their two beautiful sons.

Here is Tiffany's story in her own words on 11/19/21:

“Today was my expected due date. I spent most of this year planning on entering the hospital today, but instead, I’m celebrating coming HOME.

After 93 days in multiple hospitals, ICU’s, and acute rehab, which included: 9 weeks on a ventilator, 8 weeks without a voice to communicate, 7 weeks with a feeding tube, 6 weeks on ECMO, 5 hospital transfers, 4 chest tubes, 3 weeks of sedation, 2 instances of lung collapse, and 1 emergency c-section at 28 weeks:

I am finally home with my family and recovering from COVID pneumonia just in time for the holidays. From the moment I regained consciousness, each doctor I’ve seen has told me there is no medical explanation for how I survived. It is only by the grace of God that I am here today. Words will never adequately express how grateful we are for the prayers, support, and love shown to us for the past few months. We are also so thankful for every nurse, doctor, surgeon, and therapist who treated me along the way, as well as the wonderful NICU nurses and doctors who treated James. I may never understand how I got sick or why, but I am so blessed and thankful to be home with Kyle, Will, and baby James. ”

To know Tiffany is to know that she has a deep love for people. She exudes loyalty to her family, friends, coworkers, and community. To Tiffany, community is an extension of family. Tiffany is always the one to remember a birthday, coordinate the group, plan the event, and support her community. She gives of her time and resources, selflessly, without asking anything in return. It is now time for her community to rally around her.
