"Little Owen Family Fire"
I remember growing up in church and we would often sing the song "Count your blessings, name them one by one" I never quite grasped the true significance of that hymn until this very moment. Yesterday evening a miracle happened, but with this miracle came tragedy. My Brother Jansen, his wife Colbie and their Baby Boy Darby Lost everything in a very scary house fire yesterday. Jansen came so close to losing his life.
While Jansen took a break from studying for Law school, Colbie decided to take the baby and go visit her parents down the hill from them.
Jansen woke up to his dog barking and a blanket of smoke covering his entire field of vision.
If you know jansen, you know how intelligent he is and how huge his heart is. Yes, Jansen is at Tulane Law School and he is a trained Soldier. His instincts kicked in and quickly dropped to the floor enough to avoid the smoke and the flames. He was going to make sure that the family dog (Quincy) was Ok and in doing this, he suffered from some pretty bad smoke inhalation. When he realized that Quincy was barking from outside, he reached a window at the opposite end of his trailer and crawled out the window.
Colbie Earns a living by running a clothing boutique from home, Darby is a 6 month old perfect little person, and Jansen is a Father, Law Student, And a soldier.
They lost everything but the clothes they were wearing and what was in Darby's diaper bag.
Thanks to Quincy Barking and Jansen's training, Jansen made it out with only smoke inhalation complications.
All of our family are Thanking God and counting our Blessings today. Thank you God for Telling Colbie to go visit her parents while Jansen napped. Thank you God for Jansen's training and intelligence to make it safely out of the burning mobile home.
Their little family will need a lot to get back on their feet. We are asking for any donations. Every little bit helps.
I have started this go fund me to help with buying the essentials they need. Please help if you can.
Always hug the ones you love and always be thankful for the blessings that you have been given.
Thank You!
