Hello everyone. Thank you so much for taking the time to look at this fundraiser. My name is Owen Causby. My Scouting journey began a few months before I turned 13, when one of my friends asked if I would like to join Troop 89: his troop. Five years later, I am working on my Eagle Scout project and need to finish quickly before I turn 18 and age out of the program. Scouts has been a truly monumental experience for me. It has taught me skills that will follow me for the rest of my life, given me many new friendships, and even brought me closer to God. I would like nothing more than for this project to serve as the capstone of everything that Scouts has given me.
For my project, I will be taking a piece of undeveloped land at Mount Paran Christian School, my school, and turning it into a beautiful butterfly garden by the lake. I am getting my classmates involved and am taking the project beyond “Owen’s Project.” Instead, it is a community-building activity as much as it is a butterfly garden.
Your donations will go directly towards the purchase of materials to be used in the garden, such as flowers, soil, and mulch, as well as to logistical issues, such as food for volunteers and tools to construct the garden. I humbly ask for even the smallest of donations; every little bit that somebody donates will go to making the garden as stunning and glorifying to God as it can possibly be.
Becoming an Eagle Scout is very important to me, and I hope to improve the lives of as many people as I can as I climb the last steps of this achievement. I give my sincerest thanks to all of you. God bless you and have a wonderful day.
